Founder's Idea respects your privacy. This policy describes how information may be collected, used, and protected when you interact with our website, products, or services.
Information we collect
We may collect information you provide directly to us, such as your name, email address, company information, and communications with us. Our products may also collect information necessary to provide their intended functionality, described below where it applies to a specific product. We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure traffic on our website.
How information is used
Information may be used to provide and improve our products and services, process transactions, respond to inquiries, maintain security, and comply with applicable legal obligations. We do not sell your information.
Payment information
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Founder's Idea does not directly store complete payment-card information processed by those providers.
Instrumentalist desktop application
The music you analyse never leaves your computer. Instrumentalist separates and transcribes recordings entirely on your own machine. Audio files you open or import are not uploaded to us and we never receive them.
When you activate a licence, the application creates a one-way fingerprint of your computer, derived from system identifiers and hashed before it leaves your machine, and sends it together with your licence key to our licence service. We receive only the hashed value and never the underlying system identifiers. This exists solely to confirm that a licence is being used on the number of computers it covers. The application re-checks this about once a week and continues to work offline in between.
The application also stores your licence and a count of how many transcriptions you have made in a file on your own computer. Uninstalling the application, or removing the licence from within it, removes that information from your machine. You may ask us to delete the activation records held by our licence service by contacting us.
To fetch music from a link you provide, and to download the AI models the application needs on first use, the application contacts the relevant third-party services directly from your computer. Those requests are subject to the privacy practices of those services.
Instrumentalist mobile app
The Instrumentalist mobile app transcribes music in the cloud rather than on your device. When you paste a link to a song or upload an audio file, that link or file is sent to our processing service, which obtains the audio where needed, separates and transcribes it, and returns the notes, sol-fa, key, and chords to your device. Uploaded and downloaded audio is deleted from the processing service after the transcription is produced.
To make repeat requests fast, the finished transcription for a song may be cached in our storage, identified by the song rather than by you. To fetch audio from a link you provide, our service uses a third-party fetching provider, and those requests are subject to that provider's privacy practices.
The free preview does not require an account. To apply the monthly free-preview limit fairly, the app generates a random identifier that is stored on your device and sent with preview requests. It is not linked to your name, email, or any other identity, and clearing the app's data or reinstalling resets it.
If you use a paid plan, you enter a licence key in the app. That key, and the email address associated with it, is used to confirm your plan and to count how many songs you transcribe in a billing period. Subscriptions are purchased on our website, not inside the app, and are processed by Stripe as described above.
The mobile app does not show advertising and does not include third-party advertising or tracking software.
Deleting your data. In the app, open your Library and use the delete control on any song to remove that entry from your history. To request deletion of all data associated with your licence key, including your saved library and licence records, email hello@foundersidea.tech from the address linked to your key and we will remove it. Uploaded and downloaded audio is deleted automatically after each transcription, as described above.
Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you by contacting us.
